Histi-Orthic Gleyosols generally appear in swamps or depressions on plains, with high groundwater table and poor drainage. Because of the long-term influence of groundwater saturation, they are in a strong reducing environment, resulting in slow decomposition and more accumulation of organic matters in profile. They refer to a group of Gleyosols with a histic epipedon and a gleyic feature induced by underground water. |
